For Admins

Last updated: Oct 21, 2026

Overview

Custom agents let your team encode its standard approach to recurring work and run it the same way every time. This article is for workspace admins and explains how to manage custom agents across your workspace.

As a workspace admin, you can:

  • Assign users permission to build agents and to manage agents across the workspace
  • View and manage all custom agents in your workspace
  • Set access levels on individual agents
  • Set when sharing an agent requires approval, and review share requests
  • Review how agents are used and shared across your workspace

Assign Agent Permissions

As a workspace admin, you can assign two agent permissions to users in your workspace:

  • Agent Builder access: Users can create agents, edit agents they have edit access to, and share agents.
  • Agent Builder admin: Users have Agent Builder access, plus the ability to manage all agents in the workspace and approve share requests.

To assign agent permissions, go to Settings Slider Command Center → Users & permissions, then select either Users or Roles. Note that these permissions will also apply to workflows. Refer to our Access Control & Permission Management article for more details on permission assignment.

View and Manage All Agents in Your Workspace

Go to Settings Slider Command Center → Reporting → Agents to view and manage all custom agents in your workspace.

The Agents management menu in Harvey's Command Center

From this page, you can:

  • Filter the list using the Published, Unpublished, Created by me, and Created by [your workspace] tabs.
  • Narrow the list with the Creator, Practice areas, and Empty instructions filters, or search for a specific agent.
  • Select Columns to choose which columns appear in the list.
  • Select Export to download the agent list as an Excel file, with optional filters and a specified date range.

The agent list shows the following columns by default:

Edit an Agent

Select any agent in the list to open the Agent Builder. From here, you can edit, test, and publish changes to the agent.

For details on how to modify agents, see our Build Custom Agents article.

Delete an Agent

In the agents list, hover over any agent and select the [icon:Trash] icon, then confirm the deletion by selecting Delete agent.

To delete multiple agents, select the checkbox next to the agents in the list, then select Trash Can Delete in the action bar at the bottom of the page.

Set Access Levels Per Agent

You can change who has access to an individual agent from Command Center.

Hover over any agent and select the [icon:People Add] icon to open the agent’s sharing menu. From here, you can add recipients to the access list and change access levels for each listing:

  • Can run: Run the agent.
  • Can view: Run the agent and view its configuration.
  • Can edit: Run the agent and edit its configuration.
  • Full access: Manage who has access to the agent.

You can change agent access for your whole workspace by selecting the general access drop-down menu at the bottom left and selecting the name of your workspace.

To remove a recipient, open their access level and select Remove access.

Managing Share Approvals

Agent Builder admins can review agent sharing requests as they come in based on approval requirements.

Set Approval Requirements

The table below shows the default approval rules for each sharing level.

Sharing Level

Default

Can Workspace Admins Change It?

Specific individuals

No approval required

Yes

Your whole workspace

Agent Builder admin approval required

Yes

An internal space

No approval required

No

An external space

Approval from that space's admin required

No

To change the approval rules:

  1. Go to Settings Slider Command Center → Configurations → Sharing.
  2. In the Agents section, turn each toggle on or off:
    • Require admin approval for all shares
    • Require admin approval for workspace shares
    • When both toggles are off, sharing doesn't require approval.

The new rules apply to share requests made after you save.

Review Share Requests

When a share requires approval, Harvey will notify Agent admins with an email or an in-app notification, and the request waits for review.

  1. Go to Settings Slider Command Center → Users & permissions → Collaboration.
  2. Select Requests.
  3. Review the pending request, then select Accept or Deny.

Harvey notifies the requester when you approve or deny their request.
