Assistant

Web search: May 8 (Tier 2)

Users will be able to select the web as a knowledge source, enabling Harvey to access real-time information from the internet. This is especially useful for time-sensitive and research-driven queries—like referencing current events, company websites, or newly published regulations.. For more information on web search, visit our Help Center.

Assistant Workflow updates: May 22 (Tier 3)

The Translate into Another Language and Transcribe Audio to Text workflows will support running up to 10 documents in each translation or transcription request. Three new general workflows will also be released:

  • Redline Document Versions: Detect changes across two documents in a redlined format, and export the newly redlined document with track changes.
  • Check a Diligence Request List: Upload data room documents to a Vault project and a diligence request list, and Harvey will determine whether the data room requests are satisfied.
  • Draft from Template: Given a template document and information sources, Harvey will draft a filled in template to review and further edit.

Australia knowledge source: May 29 (Tier 3)

Users will be able to access Australia Federal Legislation, Federal case law and NSW case law within Harvey. Admins will be able to enable this knowledge source for specific users from the Roles tab of the admin panel.

Vault

Custom Vault Review workflows: May 29 (Tier 2)

Admins will be able to save an existing Review table as a new workflow, add a title and description, and publish it to specific users or your full workspace. You’ll also be able to duplicate and edit Harvey workflows. These will appear on the Workflows page and will be recommended within Vault projects for easy reuse.

Review cell verification and editing: Available in beta (Tier 2)

We’re making it easier to complete your work directly in Harvey without needing to export Review tables. You’ll now be able to verify cells or rows to confirm accuracy, with verified data highlighted in green for quick review. All fields will be editable, and each cell will include an activity log showing who made changes and when. This feature will be generally available in June. For early access, reach out to your Harvey account team.

Redlines recognition in Vault: May 15 (Tier 3)

In March, we launched redlines recognition in Assistant. Now, you will be able to upload redlined PDFs or Word documents with tracked changes to Vault and query over these files in Assist, Draft, or Review for projects like comparing bidder markups, or reviewing cumulative and iterative changes to a contract.
Note: Only newly-uploaded files will be processed as redlines.

Admin Functionality

Improved CM# experience: May 8 (Tier 3)

We’re improving the Client Matter (CM#) selection experience with recent CM# shortcuts, alphabetical sorting, and easier editing to help users find and update matters more quickly.

Admin-managed user profiles: May 15 (Tier 3)

Workspace admins will be able to modify user profiles to personalize the experience further, improving users’ library and workflow rankings in Assistant. They will also be able to filter users in the Users table by job title, practice area, and language.

Word Add-In

Playbooks: May 15 (Tier 2)

Playbooks in the Harvey for Word Add-In will enable you to automate contract review and markups by integrating and applying standardized rules directly within Microsoft Word—ensuring consistent, efficient, and high-quality reviews at scale.

Assistant

Assist mode UI and model update: Tier 2

As part of our commitment to moving fast and delivering best-in-class model performance, we rolled out GPT-4.1 as the primary model powering Assist mode and Vault. Based on our testing, GPT-4.1 improves both baseline response quality and the maximum output length of Harvey’s responses, as well as a more recent knowledge cutoff of May 2024 (previously October 2023).

Assist mode has also been refreshed to improve usability and mirror the Assistant workflows UI. Changes include a new chat-style UI, exposing the model’s thinking states, and suggested followups that persist in thread.

Draft mode model update: Tier 2

Draft mode has also been enhanced with a newer model. The updated model delivers longer outputs, reduced hallucinations, and improved legal reasoning—similar to Assist mode—while maintaining Draft mode's characteristic tone and style. This update includes more recent knowledge cutoffs:

  • US workspaces: now May 2024 (previously October 2021)
  • EU workspaces: now October 2023, soon May 2024 (previously October 2021)

There are no other UI or experience changes to Draft mode with this rollout.

The Assistant composer now features shortcuts to recently-used and suggested knowledge sources, so users can quickly query over projects, knowledge bases, or knowledge sources.

Harvey’s sidebar has been refreshed to include a global search button for users to search over their threads, projects, and workflows, as well as quick access to view and create new Vault projects.

Vault

“Save to Vault” from Assistant: Tier 3

In an Assistant thread, users can quickly save documents to a new or existing Vault project.

Vault Review output localization: Tier 3

We’ve made improvements to language output in Vault Review, which historically tended to favor English unless manually specified in every column. Now, outputs are localized respectively based on user instruction, language of the query, and language specified in User Profile.

Review cell wrapping: Tier 3

Users can toggle on a wrapped cell view in Vault Review tables, enabling more text to be visible per cell.

Document classification filter: Tier 3

When selecting documents for a Review table, there is now a “Filter” button to view documents of a specified type.

Vault upload failure log: Tier 3

When uploading files to Vault, any file that fails to process is surfaced in a single pop-up that allows you to understand the failure reason.

Admin Functionality

Custom workspace guidance and notices: Tier 3

Admins can offer custom guidance and important announcements to users through a recurring pop-up notice and the workspace guidance modal—now located in the left sidebar for easy access throughout the app. This can be managed in the Admin section of the app.
