Alternate Suggestions in the Harvey for Word Add-in
The Harvey for Word add-in now shows alternate suggestions on suggestion cards, so you can compare options and apply the one that best fits your document.
What’s New
The Harvey for Word Add-in can now provide alternate suggestions on suggestion cards. These appear when your request could reasonably benefit from more than one option, or when you explicitly ask for alternatives. You can review each option and apply the one that best fits your document.
Why It Matters
Previously, Word suggestion cards surfaced a single suggestion per request, even in cases where multiple reasonable options existed. Alternate suggestions give you more flexibility to compare options and choose the best fit for your document.
How To Use
When requesting a revision or suggestion from the Word add-in, ask for alternatives directly in the prompt (e.g. “Revise this indemnification clause and give me a few options” or “Give me conservative, moderate, and aggressive versions of this termination clause”).
When alternates are available, they'll appear on the suggestion card. Select the option that fits best, then select Apply.
FAQs
Q: Does this change how existing suggestions work?
No. Suggestions without reasonable alternatives will continue to appear as a single suggestion.
Q: Can I still apply all suggestions at once with alternates present?
Yes. Harvey's primary suggestion is selected by default, and if a user picks an alternative, that's what gets applied on "Apply all." The option selected in the card is the one applied to the document.
