Apply Suggestions From History in the Harvey for Word Add-In
In the Harvey for Word add-in, you can now navigate to and apply suggestions from previous sessions when you open a thread from history.
What’s New
In the Harvey for Word add-in, suggestions from earlier sessions are no longer read-only. When you reopen a thread from history in the Harvey for Word add-in, you can now jump to the exact paragraph a suggestion applies to and apply it directly in your document - no need to re-run the task.
Why It Matters
Previously, suggestions were only actionable during the session that created them. If you closed Harvey and came back to a thread later, you could read the suggestions but not act on them. This change makes it so you don’t have to re-run the task or apply the change manually.
How To Use
- Open the Harvey for Word add-in.
- Select the Thread history icon at the top left of the add-in.
- Choose a previous Harvey thread from your history list.
When you reopen a thread, you can now:
- Jump to the right place. Select a past suggestion and Harvey takes you to the exact paragraph it applies to.
- Apply a suggestion directly. Accept a historical suggestion the same way you would a live one.
- Know what's actionable. If a suggestion can't be applied (for example, the target paragraph was deleted) it's shown as unavailable with a clear explanation.
FAQs
Q: What suggestions can’t be applied from history?
Suggestions generated before this release may not be available in history, since they don't carry the paragraph identity needed to re-locate the change reliably. Additionally, suggestions that are no longer applicable to the document (e.g. it’s a suggestion to edit a paragraph that was later deleted from the document) are not applicable.
