Release Notes
Horizon Scanning
Monitor regulatory and legislative developments and act on them directly in Harvey, without tracking sources by hand.
Overview
Horizon Scanning is now available in Harvey, helping legal teams to stay informed about regulatory and legislative developments by continuously monitoring topics that matter to their work.
Instead of manually tracking updates across multiple sources, you can now configure ongoing scans that surface relevant changes in one place, refresh hourly, and connect directly to the rest of your work in Harvey.
Key Features
- Configurable Scans: Set up ongoing scans scoped to specific jurisdictions, industries and topics. Describe what you want to track in plain language or select coverage manually.
- Centralized Dashboard and Weekly Digest: View key updates across all your scans in one place. Unread indicators show which scans have new developments, and a weekly digest summarizes the most pressing items.
- Email Notifications: Receive a daily email digest of your starred scans. When you create a new scan, you’ll also get a one-time email the first time it surfaces developments.
- Draft Emails From a Development: Turn a scan’s finding into a client alert or internal communication directly from the development.
- Attach Scans as a Source in a Thread: Attach a specific scan, or all of your scans, as a source in a thread to ask questions and generate analysis without leaving your work. You can also ask Harvey questions from inside a scan.
- Scans in Custom Agents: Select a scan as a source in a custom agent for recurring custom outputs like a weekly policy review memo.
- Share Scans to Spaces: Share scans to Spaces for collaborative monitoring, with full editing or view-only access.
- Command Center Reporting: Workspace admins can use Command Center to review Horizon Scanning usage across the workspace, including all active scans and workspace-level access visibility.
By bringing monitoring, analysis, and collaboration together in Harvey, Horizon Scanning will help teams respond to regulatory changes more efficiently.
Why It Matters
Keeping up with regulatory change is a recurring, manual task: law firms need current information to advise clients, and in-house teams need it to update policies and assess risk. Much of that work today is reactive, spread across many sources, and disconnected from the documents and analysis it ultimately feeds.
Horizon Scanning is designed to replace the manual monitoring step so your team can focus on what a development means and what to do about it. Because scans live inside Harvey, scan developments can flow directly into Vault, queries, custom agents, and drafting, so the path from a new regulation to a client alert or an updated policy stays in one place.

FAQs
Are there security or data-processing implications?
There are no new subprocessors or changes to data processing. Only metadata such as jurisdictions and topics is sent externally. Client documents, free-form queries and Purpose text, and project context remain within Harvey and its existing subprocessors.
