Redline-Only Playbook Reviews
Playbook Review now focuses on redlines when reviewing a contract you've already negotiated, whether it's on your own paper or a later round of negotiation, so you only see suggestions on what actually changed.
What’s New
Playbook Review now detects when a contract already contains redlines and adjusts its review accordingly:
- Reviews focus only on the redlined portions of the contract, on both first-party paper and later rounds of negotiation
- Harvey identifies the author and timestamp of each redline and reviews only the counterparty's edits, leaving your own team's redlines out of scope
Why It Matters
Reviewing the full document again in later rounds re-surfaces clauses you've already settled, and can suggest walking back a concession you already made. Focusing on redlines keeps suggestions relevant to where the negotiation actually stands, so you can move the deal forward without re-litigating what's agreed.
How To Use
When you run a Playbook review, Harvey automatically sets the Review scope to Redlines only if it detects existing redlines in the document. You can override this by choosing a different review scope option before running the review.

Q: Does this replace a full playbook review?
No. Harvey runs a full review when a contract has no existing redlines, such as a first pass against clean counterparty paper. The redline-focused review applies once a contract already contains redlines, whether from your own team or the counterparty. Users can override this at any time.
