User Attribute Sync via SCIM
Sync job title, practice area, and more from your identity provider directly into Harvey, keeping profiles accurate and powering richer insights in Command Center.
What’s New
Harvey's SCIM integration now accepts additional standard attributes from Entra ID and Okta and maps them to Harvey profile fields. When your IT team provisions or updates a user in your identity provider (IdP), the matching Harvey profile fields update automatically. Admins can now:
- Sync standard attributes to Harvey profiles: full name, job title, practice area, primary profession, country, and primary work location
- Configure custom attribute mappings, pointing a firm-specific SCIM attribute (such as a custom practice group taxonomy) at a supported Harvey field instead of the default mapping
Once a field syncs from your IdP, it's locked in Harvey, so a user can't overwrite it by editing their profile directly. Fields your IdP doesn't send remain user-editable, and for multi-select fields like practice area, users can still add their own values alongside the synced ones.
Why It Matters
Until now, SCIM used email as the only synced identifier, which left titles, practice areas, and other profile data to be entered and maintained by hand. This release lets admins drive that data from the directory they already maintain, so there's no dual maintenance and the IdP stays the trusted source for synced fields.
Because those values now come from the IdP rather than user entry, they're more consistent across your workspace, which is designed to make Command Center filters, usage insights, and reporting more accurate for data-driven decisions.
How to Use
If your workspace already has SCIM set up through Entra ID or Okta, the additional attributes will sync automatically after an admin has configured attribute mapping. The new data flows in the next time a profile is created or updated.
You can find more information on configuring SCIM in your workspace in our SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management) Integration article.
