Overview
The Aderant Integration connects Harvey to Aderant iTimekeep, so the work you do in Harvey can flow directly into your firm's timekeeping workflow as draft billing narratives. Instead of recreating what you did from memory hours or days later, you can push a Harvey-generated draft to iTimekeep, review it there, and confirm.
Harvey never creates a final billable entry. Every entry stays a draft in iTimekeep until you approve it, and every Harvey-originated entry is tagged so your firm can measure AI-assisted work over time.
Enable the Aderant Integration (Admins)
Important: For the Aderant integration to work, your firm must be licensed for iTimekeep (premium not required). The admin who sets up the integration needs their own iTimekeep account with the admin role, but they do not need to be a timekeeper. As long as your firm is already entitled to iTimekeep, adding a non-timekeeper admin to your subscription has no licensing cost or impact. Individual users within Harvey must have the timekeeper role in iTimekeep.
An administrator must enable the Aderant integration in your Harvey workspace before anyone can use it.
To enable the integration as an admin:
- Go to Settings → Integrations.
- In the Admin Connector Management section, find Aderant iTimekeep and select Enable.
- Select which roles can use the integration.
- Save your changes.
- Go below to Your connectors, find Aderant iTimekeep and select Sign in.
- Go back to Aderant iTimekeep and select Manage.
- Select your iTimekeep Subscription for your workspace.

How to Use
Connect Your iTimekeep Account
- From Harvey’s sidebar, select Settings, then go to Integrations.
- In the list of connectors, find Aderant iTimekeep and select Sign in.
- Sign in on the Aderant-hosted login page using your iTimekeep credentials.
Submit a Draft Narrative
You can submit time from inside an Assistant thread or a Vault review table.
- After completing your work, select Submit time to open the Aderant draft submission menu.
- Review your narrative and time duration and make edits if needed. Harvey generates a 1-2 sentence narrative based on the session's activity.
- Add Client-Matter, if required.
- Select Submit draft to iTimekeep.
- Review and confirm your draft within iTimekeep.
Review, edit, and post it using your firm's existing iTimekeep workflow. The entry becomes a billable record after your confirmation.

Notes & Limitations
- During Early Access, the Aderant integration supports manual time submission. After general release, automatic submission will batch the day's activity and send drafts to iTimekeep at end of day.
- You can only submit time to matters you're authorized to use in iTimekeep, including ethical walls.
- At the time of Early Access, there is no indication as to the origin of a narrative. Eventually, those narratives will have some form of indication that they are Harvey-originated.
FAQs
Q: Will Harvey start posting time directly into Aderant or our Practice Management System (PMS)?
No. Harvey only creates draft entries in iTimekeep. You can still review, edit, and post time using your firm's existing workflows. Aderant and the firm's PMS remain the system of record.
Q: Does enabling the integration give Harvey access to all of our matters?
No. Harvey only sees a your own recent matters, governed by Aderant's permissions for that user. There is no global service account or blanket access.
Q: What data actually goes from Harvey to Aderant?
For each draft: the selected matter ID, the duration, and the narrative the user approved. Harvey does not send full prompts, documents, or session transcripts.
Q: Does Harvey see our rates, invoices, or financial records?
No. The integration is limited to timekeeping. Harvey does not read rates, invoices, balances, WIP, or any other financial data.
Q: How are credentials and access tokens protected?
Users authenticate on Aderant-hosted pages. Harvey never sees passwords. Tokens are encrypted while stored and used only from Harvey's backend to act on behalf of the user.
Q: How does this interact with our ethical walls?
Existing Aderant permissions continue to govern matter visibility. You cannot submit time to matters you’re walled off from.
Q: Can we turn it off later if needed?
Yes. Admins can disable the integration for a workspace at any time, and users can disconnect their own accounts at any time. Disabling stops any further data from moving between Harvey and iTimekeep.
Q: Does this introduce any new LLM providers or change how our data is handled?
No. Narrative generation runs on Harvey's existing LLM setup, under the workspace's existing region, model, and data-handling settings.
