Overview
OttoSchmidt is now available as a Knowledge Source in Harvey, expanding coverage for German legal research and drafting. This integration adds authoritative German secondary-source commentary across business law, tax law, and accounting from the Otto Schmidt Legal Data Hub.
Important: To enable OttoSchmidt as a Knowledge Source, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager.
How to Use
For Admins
Once your CSM has enabled OttoSchmidt for your workspace:
- Go to Settings and open the Connector Library.
- Locate and select OttoSchmidt.
- Enter your firm's OttoSchmidt or Legal Data Analytics API credentials to complete setup.
Once credentials are saved, OttoSchmidt will be available for users to select as a Knowledge Source.
For Users

- Draft your query in the Assistant prompt text box.
- Select Sources, then choose OttoSchmidt.
- [Optional] Select Set filters to narrow the scope of your search.
- Run your query.
- Check the Sources panel to confirm whether OttoSchmidt content was cited.
FAQs
Q: Does OttoSchmidt require a separate subscription or fees?
Yes. While Harvey does not charge a fee to utilize the OttoSchmidt knowledge source, your firm must have separate API credentials with OttoSchmidt or Legal Data Analytics; any API-related fees are paid directly to them.
Q: Will I be able to tell when content comes from OttoSchmidt?
Yes. Harvey will indicate when OttoSchmidt content is being used as an underlying source in your query results.
