Every user will get a Personal Vault: a private vault that saves files uploaded in Assistant, Workflow runs and standalone Review Tables. You can reuse files from previous work instead of re-uploading them for each new chat, and ask Harvey about your own file history from one searchable place.
Feature Highlights
Automatic saving: Harvey saves files uploaded to an Assistant chat, Workflow run or standalone Review Table to your Personal Vault, organized into a subfolder per thread or run. The composer shows where your files are going.
Reuse files without re-uploading: In a new thread, pull files from your Personal Vault instead of uploading them again. Before, files tied to a one-off session disappeared when it ended.
Ask Harvey about your file history: Your uploads live in one searchable place, so you can ask things like "summarize the last 10 files I worked with today."
Private by design: Your Personal Vault works like any other vault. You can rename, move, organize, download and delete files, but only you can see it, and you can't share it. Others reach a specific file only through a thread you shared or a view-only table.
Retention that follows your work: Each file's retention follows the most recent thread or run that used it, so reusing a file in a newer thread extends its retention.
FAQs
Q: Can I share my Personal Vault with teammates?
A: No. Only you can access your Personal Vault. To collaborate on files, move them into a shared vault first.
Q: What happens when my Personal Vault reaches its file limit?
A: It holds up to 100k files, the same as a regular vault. At the cap, Harvey blocks new uploads with a "vault full" message and never deletes files to make room. Free up space by deleting or moving files.
Q: Can I share threads or Review Tables built from Personal Vault files?
A: Yes. Sharing a thread gives the recipient view access to the files it uses, and you can share a Review Table built on Personal Vault files as view-only: recipients see the results but can't run or re-run the table.
Q: Does Harvey save model-generated outputs too?
A: Not in this release. Harvey saves only uploaded files for now and plans to save generated outputs in a later milestone.
Q: Does Harvey deduplicate files I've already uploaded elsewhere?
A: No. Harvey saves the file to your Personal Vault even if it exists in another vault, and re-uploading the same file adds another copy.
Q: Do guest users get a Personal Vault?
A: No. Guest uploads work the way loose uploads did before.
Q: Does this work on mobile?
A: Not in this release. Mobile uploads work as before; Harvey captures web uploads.
Q: What retention policy applies to Personal Vault files?
A: Files follow your workspace's Assistant retention policy. Retention is measured from the file's last use (the most recent thread or run that used it), not from when the thread was created, so actively reused files stay retained.
