Overview

space template

Space Templates turn an existing Space into a reusable starting point for new matters. Save a Space's phases and tasks, agents, linked Vaults, and Space Context as a template, then choose that template when you create a Space. The new Space starts with the template's setup, and you tailor it to the matter.

Anyone in your workspace who can create Spaces can browse, search, and filter templates by practice area. Saving a template requires the Manage Space Templates permission, and users with that permission can review and delete templates in Command Center.

What a Template Includes

  • Phases and tasks: Task titles and descriptions, grouped by phase. Tasks start unassigned and without dates.
  • Agents: The agents associated with the Space's work.
  • Vaults: Links to the Space's reference Vaults.
  • Space Context: The Space's reusable background and guidance.

Templates don't include members or parties, permission settings, notification settings, or custom UI configuration.

How to Use Space Templates

Save a Space as a Template

  1. Open the Space you want to reuse.
  2. Select the Dot Grid Horizontal icon in the Space header, then select Book Simple Save as template.
  3. Enter a name, description, and practice area for the template.
  4. Select Save template. The template appears in the template picker right away.

Create a Space from a Template

  1. Select ViewAllSpaces View all spaces in the sidebar.
  2. Select Plus Create Space, then select Layers Two From a template.
  3. Browse the available templates, or narrow down the list by searching or filtering by practice area.
  4. Select a template to preview what it adds to the new Space.
  5. Enter a name for the Space and, if required, select a Client Matter.
  6. Select Create.
  7. Review the new Space and tailor it to the matter: invite members, assign tasks, set dates, and add resources and matter-specific context.

Manage Templates in Command Center (Admins)

To view a list of all Space templates saved in your workspace, go to Settings Slider Command Center → Reporting → Space templates.

From here, you can see each template’s creator and when it was last modified. You can delete any template that should no longer be offered by selecting the Dot Grid Horizontal icon and choosing Delete template.

Update a Template (Admins)

During Early Access, existing templates cannot be edited. To update a template, make changes to your Space, then save it as a new template:

  1. Update your existing Space with your changes.
  2. Delete the old template in Command Center.
  3. Save the revised Space as a new template with the appropriate name, description, and practice area.
