Download and Install the Harvey Outlook Add-In

Overview

The Harvey Outlook Add-In brings Harvey into Outlook so you can work with Harvey directly from your email. Setting it up is a two-step process: first you install the Harvey Outlook add-in, then you launch it from an open email thread.

This guide walks you through installing the add-in on Outlook on the web and the Outlook desktop app, then launching and signing in to Harvey so you can start using it from your email.


Install the Harvey Outlook Add-In

Install on Outlook from the Web

  1. Go to Outlook’s app store, then search for “Harvey” and click the add-in.

  2. Click Add to proceed.
  3. Follow the instructions below on launching the Harvey Outlook add-in to enable Harvey as you work.

Install on Outlook's Desktop App

  1. From Outlook’s desktop app, find the Apps or Add-ins icon in the top toolbar.
    1. You may need to click on the ellipses, then select “Get add-ins” or “All Apps.”

  2. Search add-ins for “Harvey” and click the add-in.
    1. If search is not an option for you, then in the left side menu click Admin-managed add-ins and check if Harvey is available there.
  3. Click Add to proceed.
  4. Follow the instructions below on launching the Harvey Outlook add-in to enable Harvey as you work.

Launch the Harvey Outlook Add-In

  1. Open the email thread you want to use Harvey with.
  2. Launch the Harvey Outlook add-in from the desktop or web.
    1. Using Outlook on the web:
      1. Click the apps icon, then select Harvey for Outlook.

    2. Using the Outlook desktop app:
      1. Harvey may already be available in your toolbar. If not, click the ellipses to expand the toolbar. You can choose customize toolbar to move Harvey within your static toolbar actions. When you open Harvey for Outlook, use the pin icon to keep it open while navigating between emails and avoid being logged out.

  3. Select Get Started to log into Harvey and begin using it on the opened email.
  4. A pop up prompting you to complete the integration should appear. Select Connect Outlook to give Harvey for Outlook permissions to read your mail, sign you in, read your profile, and maintain access to data.

  1. Open the Outlook add-in.
  2. In the Outlook panel on the right, you’ll see one of two options:
    1. If your workspace has already enabled the Outlook connector: Select Connect Outlook to sign in to your Outlook email and authenticate.

  3. Once Outlook has been connected, select Continue.

  4. Ask Harvey to search your mailbox or locate a specific email. For example: "Find all emails from opposing counsel this month mentioning the indemnification cap." Harvey returns results with citations and direct email links.
