What's New

Client matters are now easier to find, apply, and govern across Harvey:

  • Client matters on Playbooks: Users with edit access to a Playbook can now assign a client matter to it. If the matter has an ethical wall, the wall follows the matter into the Playbook under your workspace's walls policy, the same way it already applies to threads, vaults, and review tables.
  • Search by matter name or description: In the client matter picker, you can search by a matter's name or description instead of its number. The matter number still displays at the top of the picker for reference.
  • Automatic client matter assignment for iManage-synced vaults: When you create a vault synced from iManage, Harvey applies the client matter associated with that source automatically.
  • Acknowledgment notices on a matter: Admins can attach a custom notice to a client matter, so a user acknowledges a client AI policy before working on that matter. Harvey records each acknowledgment, including when the user consented.

Why It Matters

These changes make matters easier to locate and manage within Harvey. Users are able to spend less time searching for the right client matter number in Harvey, synced vaults and Playbooks stay tied to the correct matter and its walls, and admins can require users to acknowledge a client's AI policy before working on a matter and keep a record of that consent.

How to Use

Notes & Limitations

  • Where ethical walls are in place, matter search results are limited to matters you can access. In workspaces without walls, you can search across all client matters in the workspace.
  • The client matter on an iManage-synced vault is set from the source and cannot be changed at vault creation.
  • An acknowledgment notice appears the first time a user selects that matter. After the user acknowledges it, it does not appear again for that user.

FAQs

Q: Can I still find a matter by its number?

Yes. Number search still works, and the matter number displays at the top of the picker. Name and description search is an additional way to find a matter, not a replacement.

Q: How can admins manage acknowledgment notices across many matters?

Admins can edit notices individually on the client matters page, or update them in bulk via CSV upload using the required format.
