Upcoming Feature
Client Matter Enhancements
A set of improvements to how client matters work across Harvey, making matters easier to find, apply, and govern: matter tagging for Spaces and Playbooks, search by matter description, acknowledgment notices on a matter, and automatic matter assignment for iManage-synced vaults.
What’s Coming
This release brings a set of improvements to how client matters work across Harvey, making matters easier to find, apply, and govern. Client matter tagging will extend to Spaces and Playbooks, so that ethical wall policies follow the matter into collaborative and reusable work, just as they already do for Threads, Vaults, and Review Tables.
The rest of the set focuses on everyday usability and governance. Users will be able to find a matter by searching its description instead of memorizing a number, admins will be able to attach an acknowledgment notice to a matter to enforce client AI policies with a logged record of consent, and vaults synced from iManage will arrive with the correct client matter already applied. Together these help enhance client matter usage across all of Harvey.
Feature Highlights
1. Assign a client matter to Spaces and Playbooks, for general governance or an ethical walls integration. For more information on Spaces and client matters, see that feature here. For more information on ethical walls integrations, see that feature here.

2. Search the client matter picker by matter name or description, not just the matter number

3. Attach a custom acknowledgment notice to a matter, so users confirm client AI policies before working on it

4. Apply the correct client matter automatically to vaults synced from iManage, keeping them aligned with the system of record

FAQs
Q: How does search by client matter name work?
Users can search by matter name or description in the client matter picker, not just the number. The matter number still displays at the top of the picker. Where walls are in place, results are limited to matters the user can access.
Q: How do client matter notices work for users?
When a user selects a matter that has a notice, the notice appears and the user must acknowledge it before proceeding. Once acknowledged, it does not appear again for that user, and the acknowledgment is logged with a record of when they consented.
Q: Can users change the client matter on a DMS-synced vault?
No. When a vault is synced from your DMS, the associated client matter is applied automatically and cannot be changed at vault creation. This keeps the vault aligned with the matter in the source system.
Q: How can admins manage notices across many matters?
Admins can edit notices individually on the client matters page, or update them in bulk via CSV upload using the required format.
