Enable the iManage Integration for Your Workspace

Learn how Harvey’s iManage integration lets you securely access, upload, and export documents across Assistant, Vault, and Workflows—keeping everything connected to your firm’s source of truth.

For Admins

Last updated: Sep 2, 2026

Overview

As an admin, there are three iManage integrations you can set up for your workspace:

  1. iManage in Harvey: This integration allows users to upload iManage documents directly into Harvey. This foundational integration must be set up first to enable the web extension.
  2. iManage Search: This integration lets users describe what they're looking for and Harvey searches their iManage content directly, without requiring a file upload. See iManage Search for setup and usage.
  3. Harvey in iManage web extension: This integration allows users to select and upload files to query in Harvey directly within iManage. Users can select documents, specify a query, and be redirected to Harvey for responses and follow-ups.

Enabling iManage in Harvey for iManage On-Premise & Single-Tenant Deployments

The integration uses secure OAuth authentication to respect all iManage permissions and ethical walls. This ensures users can only access documents they're authorized to view in iManage. Admins can also enable or disable this feature at the workspace level.

Follow these steps to connect Harvey with your iManage environment:

  1. In Harvey, go to Command Center → Configurations → Integrations.
  2. Toggle on the iManage On-Premise integration and select Enable in the confirmation prompt.
  3. Select the Download button to get your custom application package for your iManage instance.
  4. Navigate to iManage, click your profile icon in the top-right corner, and select Control Center.
  5. From the left-hand menu, choose Applications.
  6. Select + Add Application in the top-right corner, then select Upload Package and upload the application package downloaded from Harvey above.
  7. Select the Authentication button.
  8. Select generate under the client secret field, configure the token settings to your preferences, then select the Access button to proceed to user access configuration.
  9. Configure the following settings in iManage Control Center:
    1. Enable refresh tokens for Harvey’s registered application
    2. Set the refresh token expiration to at least 1 year
    3. Set the access token expiration to 60 minutes or longer
  10. Define which users should have access to the integration, then select the Review button to confirm your settings selections.
  11. Select Finish to complete the setup in iManage.
  12. Back in the Applications list, click into Harvey AI – File Syncing. Copy the client secret to paste into Harvey below**.**
  13. Navigate back to the Harvey Integrations page, continue the integration setup flow and specify the following information:
    1. Tenant URL: URL used to access your iManage instance.
    2. Client ID: Should be auto-populated and will match the ID in the iManage app.
    3. Client Secret: Paste the value copied from the iManage app details here.
  14. Select Finish and test the Integration by connecting your own account: select Connect and sign in with your iManage credentials to authorize the connection.

The integration should now be available in Harvey, though users will need to authenticate their iManage account when using the integration for the first time.

iManage Search requires the base iManage integration (above) to already be configured for your workspace. Once that's done, you can grant users permission to use Search within Command Center → Users & permissions → Roles:

  • iManage Cloud: grant the Use iManage Search permission.
  • iManage On-Premises: grant the Use iManage On-Premises Search permission. On-Premises Search additionally requires an indexing server, commonly RAVN, in your iManage environment.

See Access Control & Permission Management for how to grant permissions to users or roles.

User Authentication and File Management

Once the integration is activated, individual users must authenticate their own iManage accounts. Users can follow this guide to begin uploading and exporting documents, or, if you've enabled it, this guide to use iManage Search.

Allowlisting Harvey's IP Addresses for iManage Connectivity

Harvey connects to your iManage environment by making outbound requests from a fixed set of IP addresses. If your firewall, iManage Control Center, or network restricts traffic by source IP, add Harvey's outgoing IP addresses to your allowlist so Harvey can reach your iManage environment. The same allowlist covers Harvey's other DMS integrations, including SharePoint.

IP Address Lists By Region

Harvey processes data in three regions — app.harvey.ai (US), eu.app.harvey.ai (EU), and au.app.harvey.ai(AU). You only need to allowlist the IP addresses for where your workspace lives. If you're not sure which region your workspace uses, contact your Harvey account team or support@harvey.ai.

Keeping Your Allowlist Up to Date

Harvey occasionally adds new outgoing IP addresses — for example, when we bring new infrastructure online. When that happens, we email your IT contacts/Admins that we have on file before the change takes effect.

To avoid any interruption to your iManage and SharePoint integrations, update your allowlist within two weeks of receiving a change notification from us. If the new addresses aren't added in time, Harvey may be unable to reach your DMS and the integration can stop working.

New IP addresses have no effect on connectivity until Harvey begins using them, so you can add them ahead of the deadline.

Upload Audit Logs

Audit logs capture every upload and download event. All integration-based uploads are recorded in the History tab (Command Center → Reporting → History), providing visibility into document activity and ensuring compliance oversight for all queries.
