Overview

A powerful query starts with context — and Harvey is engineered to help you deliver both. Harvey combines your prompt with key details to ground its answers in the real world you work in.

When you’re missing critical context, Harvey will nudge you with smart suggestions — pointing you toward the clearest way to frame your question or the most relevant documents to upload.

Looking for current events or external data? Harvey routes you to Web Search. Need case law or precedent? It recommends the right files to drop in.

Document Uploads Nudge

When Harvey doesn’t have access to key source material, it proactively offers a nudge to help guide your next steps. To ensure your query produces accurate, grounded answers, Harvey will:

  • Suggest uploading relevant documentation or source files
  • Prompt you to use Web Search for up-to-date external references
  • Redirect you to the best workflow for the task

These nudges help you stay precise — and avoid hallucinations — when your query depends on data Harvey doesn’t have.
