Overview

The Octus connector brings credit intelligence from Octus into Harvey for leveraged finance, credit, and restructuring work. With Octus connected, you can use Octus content as context in your Harvey queries, including:

  • Expert analysis
  • Credit data
  • Private company financials
  • Covenant and restructuring data
  • US court filings

Octus connects to Harvey through an MCP connector in Harvey's Connector Library. A workspace admin configures the Octus connector for the workspace, and then users with access can select Octus as a source when using Harvey.

This guide walks you through setting up the Octus connector as an admin, connecting your Octus account as a user, and using Octus content in Harvey.

Before You Begin

Make sure the following are in place:

  • An Octus license that includes the Octus MCP add-on. Access to the Octus MCP connector is an add-on to base Octus subscriptions. For details, refer to Octus MCP Connector or contact your Octus representative.
  • The Connector Library is enabled for your workspace. Admins can refer to our Connector Library article for instructions.

For Admins: Enable the Octus Connector for Your Workspace

  1. Go to Command Center → Configurations → Connectors.
  2. Locate Octus and select + Add.
  3. Log in with your Octus account credentials to complete setup.

Once credentials are saved, Octus will be available for users to select as a Knowledge Source.

  2. In the popover, select Settings Personal Settings.

  1. Draft your query.
  2. Select Sources Sources.
  3. Choose Octus.
  4. Run your query.
  5. Check the Sources panel to confirm that Harvey cited patent data in its response.

As the query results come in, you may need to provide approval for specific actions if confirmation is enabled.

FAQs

Q: Can admins control which users have access to Octus in Harvey?

Yes. As with other connectors in the Connector Library, workspace admins configure Octus for the entire workspace and can then limit access to specific users for more granular control.

Q: Why don't I see Octus as a knowledge source?

Octus appears only after a workspace admin configures the Octus connector and gives you access, so check with your admin first. If Octus is available in Harvey but doesn't return content, your organization's Octus subscription may not include the MCP add-on, and your Octus representative can confirm.
