Overview

The Harvey for Slack integration allows you use Harvey directly inside Slack, so you and your team can get answers, review documents, kick off drafting and more. You can also use Slack as a knowledge source in Harvey, letting you search across your Slack channels and threads to pull legal and business context into your Harvey queries.

Key Features

  • Message @Harvey in-thread: @ mention Harvey in any channel where the bot has been invited, or DM the app, and get a reply in the same thread.
  • Attach and act on documents: Attach a file for Harvey to review, then draft, summarize, or generate a new file, and download the result directly in Slack.
  • Save to Vault: Save a Slack message or thread, along with its attachments, into a Vault project so the context lives alongside your matter materials.
  • Share threads with teammates: When you start an @Harvey thread in a channel or group DM, Harvey nudges you to share it with channel members who also have Harvey accounts.
  • Use Slack as a knowledge source in Harvey: Ground your Harvey queries in context from your Slack channels and threads.

Notes & Limitations

Harvey actions that Slack doesn't support yet, such as running agents, workflows, or playbooks, is available in the Harvey web app.

Q: Who can use Harvey for Slack?

Workspace admins opt-in and choose which users can message @Harvey in Slack; users then link their Slack account to their Harvey account to get started.

Q: Where is Slack data stored, and what retention and privacy terms apply?

Processing runs on Harvey's own infrastructure, and each workspace's data is stored in its assigned region under zero-data-retention terms. Any query created from Slack or referencing Slack as a knowledge source is subject to your Harvey workspace's existing data retention and privacy settings.
