Harvey II Overview

Learn about Harvey II, the update that will give agents context from your matters and projects, and memory of how you work.

Last updated: Sep 1, 2026

Overview

Harvey II is not a single feature rollout, but rather a collection of features that will change how agents start work. Instead of starting from only a prompt, agents will be able to pull relevant context from the matter or project they're opened in, plus a memory of the user's preferences.

What's Included in Harvey II?

Harvey II brings a collection of new and upgraded features that give agents access to relevant history, context, and preferences to help inform a request.

These upgrades breakdown into four categories: personalization, agentic upgrades, collaboration, and design.

I. Personalization

Two updates add new ways to customize Harvey. First, with User Memory, users can save personal preferences such as drafting style, negotiating posture, preferred jurisdiction, and formatting habits. Second, Admins can create Templates, so generated files automatically follow organizational preferences.

II. Agentic Upgrades

Conversations with Harvey are agentic. The Harvey agent can plan and execute complex work while lawyers continue owning the review and judgment. Describe the task, and Harvey identifies the right context and tools, such as a vault, review table, knowledge source, connector, or a custom agent. Users stay in control with the option to confirm before proceeding. This means less time spent prompting and searching for materials, and more time reviewing the work.

III. Collaboration

A new design for Spaces makes organization and collaboration easier. Create, assign, and track tasks inside a space, so work with co-counsel, agents, and clients remains in a single hub, instead of scattered across emails and chats. Workspaces with client matters configured can associate each space with a client matter.

IV. Design

Alongside feature updates, we’re refreshing Harvey’s visual design and navigation for consistency and ease of use. Updates include bringing commonly-used tools to the top level, reducing the number of clicks needed to start work, and making it easier to return to ongoing work. A few highlights include:

  • Custom agents are more accessible through a new Agents tab
  • Review tables are more accessible through a new Review Tables tab
  • Recent threads and Spaces are more easily accessible on the sidebar menu
  • Settings are nested under a user’s profile

How the Pieces Work Together

Agents work inside Spaces, so the documents, people, tasks, permissions, and history of a matter or project are already there when an agent starts. Tasks move with the work: when an agent finishes its part, the task hands off to the lawyer who owns the next step, instead of getting lost in an email thread. Memory adds the rest: Harvey remembers how you like things structured and cited, so an agent's first draft starts closer to something you'd send.

What This Looks Like in Practice

The work itself doesn't change. What changes is how much of the setup and repetition Harvey II takes off your plate. Here's what that can look like.

What Harvey II makes possible

Get oriented on a matter.

Re-upload the same documents every time you prompt.

Open a Space dedicated to the matter. The data room, parties, and files live there so you don’t have to start over every time.

Hand off a task on a matter.

Explain the full deal or matter background each time you want AI to take a first pass.

Hand off the task to Harvey, which already knows the matter, so it can take a first pass.

Get a draft that sounds like you.

Rewrite outputs to match your voice, formatting, and firm's standards.

Get a draft that automatically reflects how you write and what your firm expects.

Find the right tool for the job.

Figure out which workflow or agent to use yourself, attach the right files and sources, and manage each step.

Describe what you need to accomplish and Harvey picks the right agent with the context already attached, then agents execute the first pass ready for you to approve.

When contracts, policies, and prior work are in a Space, there’s no need to re-add the context each time.

Get a draft that sounds like you.

Rewrite outputs to match your voice and company standards.

Get an agent to produce a draft that already reflects how you write and what your company expects.

Work across teams without losing track of things.

Loop in other business teams separately and track next steps over email, Teams and Slack.

Legal, Procurement, and Compliance work from the same shared tasks in a Space, so nothing falls through the cracks.

Find the right tool for the job.

Figure out which workflow or agent to use yourself, attach the right files and sources, and manage each step.

Describe what you need to accomplish and Harvey picks the right tool, with context already attached and the work carried through end-to-end.
